    Default 998c transduecer not reading right side


    i just purchased a 998c and installed it after install i took it out to try it out and the right side of the si will not read l checked the settings and and it is set to read both sides left side looks great there is nothing in the way to block it. i also tried it not mounted to the boat. could it be a bad transduecer straight out of the box

    You might try bending the pins ever so slightly in the Xducer cable end...maybe it's not getting good contact on the right SI beam pin...

    Even try taking the cables out of the collector and plugging straight into the unit..(it's easier to wiggle the connector ends to check for a loose connection if the cables are not in the collector )..

    If you know someone with a SI unit... You can try your head unit on their boat or their head unit on your boat ...

    If that doesn’t work, call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks and ask them to send you a replacement out.
