More than likely because you are using the same battery for both the troller and the HB.

Anybody else have this problem??? Reads great until i start trolling again then the di and depth go crazy. Is this because of the thrust or could it be because the battery i use for hb is same a troller.

Definately an electrical interference issue. First attempt to fix the issue is to run them to seperate batteries. If that does not work call Humminbird and they will give you a series of steps to attempt to solve your problem. Good luck.

Never run electronics off the TM battery. Everytime you step on the go button for the TM there is a surge. Electronics do not like surges.

Thanks guys. Are you guys running a regular 12v starting battery or something smaller like a lawn mower battery for ff.
if you have a motorguide trolling motor you need to run a ground to the skeg
If you have a cranking battery just run it to that. If you are running troller only look at Cabelas they sell a small gel cell battery pretty cheap and can get a charger for it also.

Well I tried HB on its own battery, turned the noise level up, made sure all wires were not touching, what else could this possibly be.
on my minnkoya i had to run ground from skeg to ground on the power cord this cleared it up
