Converting gps dd to dms.

I'm having trouble converting decimal to dms. Like 37.29225 to 37 17 32.1. My huminbird wants degrees minutes and seconds. Should I put in 37 17 032. Location does not look right. Please help.

Im not sure which unit you have but try switching to advance user mode then switching your position format. It has three formats for coordinates. Hope this is what your looking for.

You should be able to do this with an H-Bird. Go into the setting and switch user mode to advanced. The into navigation tab I believe, and change format to dd.dddd. Both of my Humminbirds work that way.

I used this site : GPS Coordinate Converter, Maps and Info to convert Decimal Degrees to GPS. It also converts to Deg/Min/Sec & UTM.

It has a multiple choice of mapping links, which shows you exactly where the coords will take you .. and displays these four different formats (Decimal, DMS, GPS, UTM).

The Position Format menu is under the Set-up menu tab.
If you have more than a few to enter I would use HumminbirdPC. If you have a large number to enter I may be able to help you out. Just send me a direct e-mail (not pm) and I will see what I can do.
