    Default Transducer Mount

Mounted the transducer of fish finder on bottom of transom even with the bottom of the boat. Works well, but as I am traveling in Bayou or lake, it makes an obnoxious rooster tail, and at times spraying water into the boat. Does the transducer need to be mounted in that manner or can it be raised a bit from the bottom so that it is below the water line while boat is not running at WOT?

That depends on the boat. On some boats you can raise the transducer upwards and still get high-speed depth readings, yet other boats you will lose the high-speed depth readings if you raise it.

If this is a Humminbird brand unit; make sure that you installed the black rubberized plug in transducer as it was designed to stop this roostertailing.
