    Default Terrova questions???

Do you have to deploy the Terrova to get everything including record to work? If you use cruise control, does the motor shut off if you exceed the programmed gps speed?

I think so CP, cause you have to deploy to get power, but im sure you have a way around that. On the v2 you can record a track with the motor stowed.

I am looking at cruise control for my motor control circuit. I am looking at the Ipilot outputs. I can control the v2, but Terrova presents a slight problem with deployment. The V2 is less sofisticated and easily manipulated. I don't know much about the Terrova except I basically understand how it works.

I can pick off the pwm signal and manipulate it to control my kicker speed with a servo controller circuit.

TM draw max amps at static and current drops as the boat approaches hull speed. My curiosity is if I exceed the gps set speed, will this produce TM prop drag causing more current draw because the tm is not turning as fast as the boat is actually moving with the kicker.

I dont think it will CP, It would be like wind or current pushing the boat. The TM dont know the difference. I would think it would shut the prop off.

I don't think you have to fully deploy the Terrova for the power to come on, so maybe a partial deploy would work in your project.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I never use cruise control or advanced autopilot, I just use the "N" button. Next time billybob has his boat with him, I will try to remember to check this stuff out. I am just putting my thoughts in a basket.

You have to partially deploy the motor to get power to it. I have put the lock clip way down the shaft to keep the motor out the water and use to big motor to run a track while I record. Then I can go back over with the terrova using the track I ran with the big motor.
