    Default 597 2D interference ?

Ok I kind of started these questions on the sticky and really never got a response. I get interference on 2d only on my 597, di seems fine. I get interference when I step on the tm but not always, some power settings are much worse than others. I tried the grounding batteries thing with no help so I removed it. I have two rf chokes on the trolling motor power wire and two on the graph power cord and I put a piece of rubber surrounding the tm so the transducer or hose clamp touch no metal on the motor. I’ve almost quit using 2d completely because of this, what am I missing? Thanks

Get a small 12 volt 8amp (UPS) battery and use it instead of the trolling motor battery. You can get them at TSC for $12. Hook the 597 to it and problem solved. They are small and easy to charge. The battery last a few days of fishing without a recharge. I have a spare in the boat and they are easy to swap out.

What trolling motor and where is the transducer mounted and how are you powering the head unit?? How is unit wired, power from fuse pastel, power direct from battery? These inputs helps us to help solve the issue. I didn't see any sticky but I am also blind.

Does this help? Transducer is on the bottom of the motor behind the skeg with rubber around it and powered with the crank battery.

Do you have a dedicated set of wires from the unit to the cranking battery...??

Are the dedicated power wires to the unit separated from the TM power wires...??

Is the transducer cable separated from the TM control cable bundle from the TM control head to the TM foot pedal...??

Rickie, From the pics it looks like the ducer is zip strapped to the bundle all the way to the foot pedal. I'd change that right away keefer, and then check again. I did that on my boat, and it made a marked change.

Mike... Can you post pix of how you separated the xducer cable from the TM bundle so keeferfish (and others) can see how to accomplish this without creating problems in raising or lowering the TM....??

(Those pix would also be beneficial here... http://www.crappie.com/crappie/fishi...erference.html )
