Default To drill or not to drill(HB998 install questions)

Got it today. I have a transducerr mounting board on order but it won't be here until monday( even paid for overnight, figure that one out). I REEEEEALLY want to get this thing on the boat and out on the water this weekend but don't want to screw up and have to re drill the 3 holes 7 times. Any suggestions(besides "get it right the first time")?

Well good news, I just checked the order again and they updated the delivery date to tomorrow. From the sounds of it I should order another one to replace this one after I drill a bunch of holes in it to find the sweet spot. LOL

Just mount on a 2X4 and C clamp on the boat, you can move it up down and sideways.

When I had my 997 I used to switch it between 2 boats, yes took about 5 minutes to do. I mounted the transducer on one of these, it just clamps on in seconds and held on up to 34 mph worked great---- no hole drills ever......................... Sully Transducer Brackets for Outboard Motors | Bass Pro Shops yes does cost more than a 2x4

Well, I finally got all the wires fished through (that was a pretty good job)and connected up. The mounting board came in this morning so I'm just waiting on the wife to get back from the store with a new tube of marine grade silicone and I'll have it all mounted up. Then off to the lake to hope I got it all set up right.
