The 798ci HD SI has ethernet connectivity...
The 798ci SI does not...(this model is now a legacy unit and retailers are clearing their stock....that's why they are $250 cheaper)...
The 798ci SI can be Interlinked...

I know, buy the biggest you can afford and I am still considering the 898ci SI Combo, .... BUTTTTTTTT.......
I was looking on the HB and Academy sites and do not see the 98ciSI listed as a model anymore.
I am trying to identify the differences between the 2 --- 798ciSI vs 798ci HD SI as there appears to be an approximate $250 price difference in the 2 models on the market.
I THINK I may have seen earlier that the 798ci HD SI had 3 things the non "HD" -- 1) Down Imaging, 2) Switchfire and something else. Is this correct?
Does anyone (Greg, CanePole,?????) know if there are 2 such models, what the differences are and, if there are differences, what makes those differences worth $250 in pricing difference?
Thanks,
Joel

Get the 898, you won't be sorry!
AFter comparison of the 5" vs 7" screens in LIVE DEMO today, it is apparent to successfully utilize the SI information, it is pretty much necessary to have the 7" or larger screen.
Thanks for the help everyone.
Joel
One always needs to remember also...
Demo views "in the store" show mostly full screen SI....
Then, when the user gets on the water, he realizes the need for a "split view" SI/Chart (to see where he is on the map)...
That SI image gets even smaller when a % of the screen real estate gets taken up by the chart needed to navigate...

Yep, the young salesman did a demo as if we were under "normal" fishing conditions with the split screens ---- that is what pretty much sold it. Just not a lot of real estate on the 5" screen and difficult to see the detail you are gaining by spending the SI money.
The pain.... the pain.........
