    Default eagle fishelite 480

Finally got to use my new unit. Spent a whole day (two days ago) getting the settings figured out and what not. Everything worked wonderfully. Yesterday I powered it on and started fishing, but about 20 minutes after it being on it beeped one time and shut down. When i looked at the screen, in little itty bitty letters, it said "boot failed". i used the power button to try and turn it back on and it came to the "main screen" where it says eagle fish elite 480 in big letters, but would never actually load up or turn all the way on should i say? I then disconnected it from the battery waited a few seconds and reconnected it and it worked fine the rest of the day. Any ideas on what this could be?

Also what settings do you guys typically change when you go from clear to murky water, and shallow to deep?

Thanks for the help everyone, Rob

Maybe the connection you disconnected and reconnected was the problem...

I would still check the fuse and fuse holder for corrosion...

Electronics giving problems aint good. If it continues doing that I'd take it back for a swap for another unit. Check your connections good is about all I can suggest. Welcome to the boards.

Got the same fishfinder, out of warranty last fall (2011). Now I get "GPS not responding." Marina shop that installed it says not their problem, Eagle says it's not the FF but the antennae and new antennaes aren't sold by them anymore (have to get on E-BAY) or they can replace the unit with a new FF for bout $350. Funny how everyone is willing to sell a product and willing to install it but when problems comes down the road no one can help. This will be the last Eagle product I ever buy.
Thanx for the rant on your post.
