    Question Humminbird Ethernet Cable Question

I am planning on eventually putting a 788 HD DI on the bow & link it with my new 998 on the console. I have been look'n at the cables & was wondering what I'll need. 15' of cable would be plenty. Will the Humminbird AS EC 15E Ethernet Cable - 720073-5 work & will I still need the adapter cable for the 788. On all the pictures I've seen the ends on the Humminbird AS EC 15E Ethernet Cable - 720073-5 look different from the other Ethernet cables.

Wiskers, the DI & SI units will not share transducers via Ethernet. I have a 788ci HD(2D) and it uses my 898 via Ethernet. I don't think you can do that with the dedicated DI units.

I might be wrong so check it out...

Don G is correct: the DI units can only share sonar data with another DI unit. They can still share waypoint, GPS and temperature data though.

Is that the right cable though? The ends don't look the same as the others. I need about 15'. I know that my setup will work like my Interlink does now. I just need to make sure when I pull the trigger that I buy the right cables.

    Thanks.

AS-EC-15E (720073-5) is the correct part number for the 15 foot Ethernet connection cable.
You will also need the 700 series Ethernet Adapter cable AS-EC-QDE (720074-1).
