    Default HDS 5 likes or dislikes for TM or Bird 788 , 597


    I am looking to upgrade TM FF and GPS have a 998 at console. seen a good deal on the Gen 1's. Do not need down or side just looking for the best FF and GPS
    Not brand particular also looking at the Birds 788 and 597
    Any replies would be appreciated Likes or dislikes Thanks

    I like my 788ciHD...You can see my jig and see when the fish hits it. I caught this one, small, but a crappie.Thumbs Up

    Something to think about: if you buy a Humminbird 700 series unit that has “HD” in the model name it can be Ethernet linked to your 998c Si unit at the console and share data.

    My preference is Low, but I put a HB ci HD 788 on the bow only because the TD wire will fit in the groove on the shaft on a Terrova, while the Low TD wire will NOT. I am now an official member of the HB "donut" club LOL.... It may not matter to you, but it did to me. Putting all HB on your boat would allow you to connect them via ethernet if both are capable.
