Default electrical interference with a 898 and terrova with us2

i had an older lowrance hooked up to the us2 cable and had no problems, since i have installed the 898 i get horrible interference when the trolling motor is activated, i have put chokes on the power cables to the trollling motor, the power cable to the 898 and on the transducer cable with no success, do i need to buy more chokes and put some on my food pedal cord also, thats about the only thing i have left to choke or i am going crazy, what other options do i have?

Have you checked your fuse under the head in the TM?

Because the noise reduction circuit in the US2 is protected by a fuse, and when it blows they are prone to interference.

If that does not help; call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks at 1-800-633-1468 and try what they suggest. Be forewarned here - what works for one boat may not work for yours. It may take several different things to try before a solution is found.

alright the 3 amp fuse in the head is fine, any more solutions, getting ready to wrap a ground wire around the ducer cord and see what that does.

Before you try too much, it can help to pull the unit's power cord out and hook it to a battery outside the boat and see if you still get interference. Do you still get interference with the motor on 100% ? If so, you could be dealing with brush issues in the motor.

I've got a 788 DI that I eventually moved from the bow to the console because I could never solve my interference and guess what, it still happens back there if you check it while running the ipilot. Sure does such to pay so much for items that won't work correctly. Put a 570 DI up front btw and never have had a problem.

RF interference is definitely an elusive monster to track down sometimes...
