I am in the market for a new fish finder in the $200-$300 range for the front of my boat. I do a lot of vertical jigging brush piles and timber and have seen some fish finders that you can actually see your lure going up and down and the fish moving towards it. What type of unit do I need to have this feature? I know a lot of the DSI type sonars wont show this. Been looking at a Humminbird 570DI as it shows traditional 2D image plus Down scan as well but don't know if it will show the lure when jigging like I want.
What do you suggest?
It is definately possible to show the jig moving in a DI unit....
Just remember that the DI sonar beam shape is a thin slice front to back....(which makes it difficult to keep the jig in the sonar beam so that successive multiple pings can hit the jig)....
Most any 2d sonar unit will show the jig moving up and down in the 2d cone-shaped sonar beam if the sesitivity is turned up enough...
Any of the HB DI units (that have DI in the model name) have DI and 2d....
