Default Minn Kota V2 Power Drive 50

Well it hasn't been my year so far with the new boat. First was Finder issues, but that proved to be simple fix.

Fished Saturday with no problems.....went out sunday morning and my motor was running full blast. I first thought my cousin stopped by and was screwing with me until I noticed nothing was sitting on the pedal button. I pushed the button and no click like you'd normally here. I remember having it last on full speed so I knew it wasn't a joke. Battery indicater still showed 3/4 charge so I headed to the lake. Put the motor down and turned up the power and it was already running without touching the button. then it would stop on it's own. I'd push the button and no "click", then all of a sudden on it's own, it would click like the buttin was pushed and off I'd go. It would randomly turn on and off. I ended up fishing the rest of the trip just by turnin the speed up and down and every once in a while the button would work. more I got into the trip the left turn wouldn't work most of the time either. Sometimes I'd just hold it down and it would go, other times I had to just keep going right or manually turn it left.

I did read where sometimes the little arm that makes contact under the pedal wouldn't make good enough contact, but in this case it just sounds worse than that. Has anyone had this issue? Any possible fixes I can do myself? I just bought it a month ago so warranty is good, but I'm really hoping to be able to fish this weekend.

Probably the best thing to do is find a MK Dealer nearby and use the warranty. I had some issues with my foot pedal about 3-4 years ago and I went with a wired hand control and I wouldn't go back back to the foot pedal for nothing. I only keep my foot pedal in my boat as a back up. If there is a dealer nearby they can probably have it going pretty quick for you.

Have your battery load tested and check all the connections. They must be clean and tight.
