Humminbird settings???

Can anyone tell me if a 898 or similar unit looses your settings/favorite menus if the power cable (or the Master Switch is off) is removed. Or are they stored in memory that dosen't get wiped out when powered down? I have a couple of friends that are planning to remove the head unit nightly when they are on vacation.

I take the head unit off the boat every time it comes out of the water!! It Keeps my settings!!!
