    Default Humminbrd 597HD DI Transducer

I just mounted my Humminbird transducer exactly to the paper work I thought but I must have mounted it to low. It seems to work great runs good to about 20mph I think that is good should the flasher side keep working at speed like the old school ones because it cuts out with the rest of it? The may issue is it throws a rooster tail up like a jet sky what did I do wrong? It is on a new xpress 20CC I have it mounted 1/8" from bracket to bottom of aluminum boat, 15" from motor, In the middle of to ribs on the boat, level with boat, angle is level with bottom of boat. I can take pics tomorrow if needed or is the rooster tail right which I doubt it, what about the speed reading? While I am asking questions I found the trolling motor transducer for it where do I find a second quick mount for it to put on front of the boat? Sorry if these are repeats I looked around a could not find it yet thanks for any help. I am usually a shadow reader thanks for all the info on this forum it has been great reading

There are a few guys on here that have made deflectors for SI ducers that made the roster tail go away. If you have too much of one you will need to relocate or adjust the ducer a bit. If it is cutting out on you that means it is either getting out of the water or too much turbulence (air) between the ducer and the water.
I have mine mounted thru hull (glass boat) and everything reads up to 60mph (that as fast as the boat will go) other than the DI. Pics would be helpful (for the experts on here). I am not an expert (especially on metal boats). Good Luck.

The XTM 9 DI 25 T is the trolling motor xducer for the 597 HD DI Combo...
    XTM 9 DI 25 T

The HB website says it comes with all mounting hardware... Even tho it doesn't show the hardware in the depiction...

Or here is the conversion adapter mounting hardware to use the transom mount xducer on the trolling motor...

When you mounted your transducer there is an insert for the DI transducer. Its a rubber insert that is its own bag, and it has instructions on installing the insert between the kick up bracket and the fixed bracket to the transom of the boat. Did you install that insert? The insert helps prevent a rooster tail from the gap between the two pieces of hardware. If you did install it the other issue would be if the transducer is too low in the water, do you have pictures of your install that you could post?

    Thank you,

    Deborah @ Humminbird

Crappie 1, Switchfire is a way to control what you see on the screen. With it on Max you see more from detail of whats in the water suspended, on clear mode you filter out what you may feel to be clutter and allow you to focus on the bottom and fish.

More details can be found below:

emptyhanded, if its cutting out because of the turbulence created then this may also help with that problem as well.

I got the insert installed today and will try it out here in a couple days. Humminbird DBK2 Second Station Kit is everything I need to have a mount in the front of the boat looks like. Here is a couple pics of my install so far Name: photo.jpg
