Default Question for Humminbird Greg or Anybody

I have a stick steer boat and really only need one side imaging/down imaging unit as long as I can switch between transducers like I can now. I'm not trying to get by with the smallest or cheapest set-up I can as this upgrade will probably last me many years. I want a large enough screen to see the greatest detail and I need to know what I need to be able to toggle between the rear mounted side imaging transducer and the trolling motor mounted 2D/Down Imaging transducer if available. Please list the items I would need to arrange this type of set up. I would like to have the biggest unit but will probably look at getting the 10 inch screen.

    slabbandit,
The 10-inch screen would be the 1198c Si unit (actually 10.4 inches). It will come with a GPS Receiver and transom mount transducer, so all you will need is the additional transducer and a Transducer Switch for this. However, there is no 2D/Down Imaging transducer for this unit as it has to use the HDSi transducer to get the Down Imaging sonar.

    XTM-9-HDSi-180-T Transducer

There are some options on the trolling motor transducer that you may want to explore. The “XTM” version of the HDSi transducer is nothing more than the standard transom mounted HDSi transducer except that it comes with an adapter bracket and a trolling motor clamp. If you fish around stumps, trees or rocks than you may want to go with something that will protect that expensive HDSi transducer. You could just buy the standard transom mounted HDSi transducer (XHS-9-HDSi-180-T) and use an adapter bracket from another company such as Transducer Shield & Saver, Raptor or Transducer Armor.

Thanks Greg! I'll sure use this information. Is the XTM-9-HDSi-180-T Transducer the side imaging also?

The XTM-9-HDSI-180-T is the same HDSI side imaging xducer that comes with the 1198...

The XTM indicates it "also" comes with the Trolling motor bracket and hose clamp...
