Finally got around to updating my 997C and 917C to version 5.840 on each of them (yep, they have the same version numbers). These versions were released in Sept and Oct 2011 and are the latest shown for my serial numbers. I've done many updates in the past, using the SD card method.

The 997 update and subsequent Interlink update seemed to go fine. Got the usual colored flashing screens as it updated, success message, etc.

Then I did the 917C. Instead of the entire screen changing colors, only the middle section of the screen changed and it did it oddly during the update. Still got the success message and nothing seems amiss--EXCEPT there's now a skinny verical red line on the screen at power-on. Most regular screens, you can't really see it, except maybe at the top and bottom. Nothing else seems wrong.

I remember someone else had this problem, probably on a different unit, but I did a search and couldn't locate the thread.

Anyone remember the thread or know the solution?
