Question on 587ci Hd DI Gps Combo
Academy sports has advertized this unit several times over the last few months for $429. Well I always thought it was a misprint because on the Humminbird site it shows the 587 but not with DI. Yesterday I was a Bass Pro and their 587's don't have DI but I was only about a mile from Academy so I drove over to check theirs out. Well their unit has Down Imaging printed on the front right below the 587ci HD Gps Combo and was running the DI demo. Has anybody run into this or used one. I'm thinking about getting one but it bothers me that there not on the Humminbird Site.

The guy I spoke to at Humminbird at first didn't know anything about it having DI but told me to hold on and came back in a few minutes and said it was a black Friday special that had DI in it. I called Academy back to see if they had any in stock and the guy said they had just got 2 more in and it says free DI on the box. I'm picking one up today.

The 587c HD DI units were a Black Friday unit as were a few other DI models. Seems that they were quite popular and are still available at some retailers. I do not know if they will be added to the regular line-up for next year or not. If they are they will get added to the Humminbird web site. These should have the same sonar specs as the other DI units: 788ci HD DI, 597c HD DI, 581i DI, 570 DI, 385ci DI and 345c DI.

Greg, I bought one today and on the dvd that comes with it shows the 587ciHD and the 587ci HD DI.

I wondered the same things but after talking to the salesman at rodgers he assured me it was a di unit so i picked one up yesterday,theirs were 429 as well and they had 35 left as of yesterday,great buy....can't wait to try it out.
