Onboard Battery Charger
I am wondering what would be a good onboard battery charger. I am running a 12v system. I have read all the posts about keeping the battery charged good and am wondering which will give me the best for my money. I want a 2 bank, and other than that I really know nothing about the marine chargers. I have been using a automotive charger with a deep cycle mode for charging. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Pro Mariner Pro Sport Series and love it, I do not know much about other brands. I bought my first one from Bass Pro and it lasted 7 years. Once you get used to them and it breaks you will be getting another one very soon!!!!! Called Pro Mariner thinking maybe it could be fixed, they sold me another one since I had already bought one for a deep discounted price and it was a upgraded model. Bottom line for me was the customer service was great!

I have the minnkota digital charger 3 bank 10 amp per bank. I love mine I just plug it up when I get back from the lake and forget about it. The more Amps per bank the faster your batteries will charge. Minnkota has 5,10,and 15 amp per bank chargers available but the more Amps per bank the more expensive it seems. Not sure of any other tangible differences other than the rate of charge (speed). If you go with minnkota definitely go with the digital as you can
Can just leave it plugged in and once your batteries are charged it will maintain them and not overcharge them. Good deals on them can be found on eBay. That's where I got mine. Also they have rebates going on too right now I believe.
