    Default splicing transducer wires


    i hav a hb 161 with a cut transducer wire. tried splicing em, n didnt work. heard about soldering em and then foil em and shrink wrap em. anybody know any other ways? i dont hav a soldering gun

    Solder each wire, including the shield. Most people forget to solder the shield. Make sure they are all sealed.

    It is the best option. See if one of your buddies has a soldering gun you can borrow. No matter what, I use liquid electrical tape on mine too. Makes sure it's all sealed up.

    Good info for a newbie, but they don't show the shrink tube in place BEFORE making the splice!! It's a biotch to get it on after

    If you read the directions, it stated insulating tape.

    However, I use heat shrink and I forget to add it sometimes.
