Default 998 changing readout-refusal and update quest.

I noticed yesterday that when I tried to change a readout (it was showing azimuth or something that I had never set it for) back to temp that the change would show (dropdown menu shows a change to temp) but the change never happened. Temp is an option for that location.

I had an update available in my HB box on their website. If I use that, will it create problems that I had before with interlinking the 788ci that is currently on the same update as the 998.

You are probably seeing this on a map screen. There are dedicated readouts for the map screens that can not be changed.

Thanks Stymie, you may be on to something. While on the map screen, I have two readouts that won't change. Position 2 out of Azimuth, and Position 5 out of volts, IIRC. The rest will change, and those two will indicate a change is possible by the dropdown, but will not change when I scroll through the choices or choose a different readout. I can't believe I haven't noticed that before now. I've had it a year. LOL

It could talltimber. What is the exact model name for your 788ci unit and what software version are you now running in your 788ci and 998 units?

5.840 on the 788ci combo, just installed the 6.180 on the 998c. I haven't hooked the 788 up yet to see if there are issues. I think I still have a copy of the 5.840 file in my home computer (IIRC) if there is a problem.
