I probably slow troll different than anyone else but I usually am watching SI/Chart or SI only to find and mark new structure as I troll...
The new option is not even available for my 1197 so its not going to affect me anyway...
I just find it disheartening (thats not really the right word) that HB finally figured out how overlay the data onto the screen like Lowrance does... But yet they chose to only provide 2 of the known readout choices to use...water temp and depth...
Once again I feel HB was coddling the bass fisherman's request of removing the readouts but they only really need temp and depth... And the heck with what any other type of fisherman may need...
If HB can overlay these 2 data fields... Why not other data fields that other types of fishermen would find usefull...
Rickie
I don't think mine took. Looks to me like the same thing, with no options to hide the readouts that wasn't already available. Seen some other stuff that was new. Didn't look at it long. Is there an option to move the readouts to the bottom? Thought that was one of the updates?
I hope HB shows some love to the xxx7 owners, like yourself. I went over to Bass pro today in KC and talked to the Lowrance guy for a couple hours, and believe it or not I saw bass lord Doug V there. Sooner or later, all units die off. I don't have the structure map on my gen 1 hds units, which is not a big deal for me, and I understand where it may be processor based. The readouts, shouldn't be a big deal on your 1197, and they sure as heck should take care of you.
I'm pulling for you, and I still hope they'll correct the GPS. The question I'd ask is, since HB is adopting the nmea2k, if you add it and a maretron heading sensor, will that do away with the donut?
Extra modules are getting pretty common place these days Rickie. You'll be fine. :highfive
