Recessed trolling control mount

Has anyone here installed a recessed trolling motor control flush mount? If so have any problems with ribs or anything else?

Triple check for any obstructions before you cut. Other than just getting the nerve up to start cutting is the hardest part.

I made one out of left over plywood. Recently put a new floor in my boat, ran across these in the process. To cheap to buy one. Really helps out, alot more comfortable after a full day fishing. Basspro & cabelas has also. I do like how the one you referenced is angled at the front, would help with the control cable routing. That is the one change i would make to mine. It is rectangle in shape.
