HB 597 Map cards, downloading waypoints, recordings from unit

I think I understand this but want to make sure. the nav map (navionics hotmaps) is just for the maps--I can mark waypoints and such-but must put in another separate card to down load the waypoints I save--Is this correct? Recordings would be the same i suppose. Also when creating waypoints on HumB PC--I upload them to the unit--and when I put the nav map card back in the waypoints will be shown on the navionics maps.
Is this correct? I think this should be my last question on the unit as far as operation

Snapshots and recordings are saved directly to the SD card....
Snapshots from the SD card can be viewed on the unit itself or on your pc by any picture viewer...Paint, windows photo gallery, etc.
Recordings have to be viewed either on the unit itself or on a 3rd party SI viewing software...SIVIEW, Humviewer, etc...

Waypoints, routes, and tracks are saved directly into the unit's internal memory....you must perform the "export all nav data" function to get that data onto a SD card...

Waypoints, routes and tracks that are in the unit's internal memory are viewable on any of the chart views in the unit....even without a mapping card in the unit....

The Navionics mapping card basically "overlays" the Navionics map data over the base map to "look like" the waypoints, routes, and tracks are showing on the Navionics map view...
