Hello I have not updated my system yet. Can someone help me out. When I purchased it I reg it with humminbird. I just logged in to humm and now I'm stuck. What steps to take and also what diff will I tell after this update . I'm running 5.250 thanks

Once you click on the upgrade and select download, I think you are given the option of where to save it to. You can save it to somewhere on your computer and then transfer it to the sd card or you can save it straight to the sd card (that's what I did). Once the download is complete, just plug it into your unit. You must reset your unit back to default settings and follow the on screen instructions. It's really pretty simple. I can't remember where it is on the site but it gives very detailed instructions on how to do it. I think its in FAQ. I have only had mine out once since the upgrade and I really haven't been able to tell the difference yet. Hope this helps ya.

Thanks ill have to try that. I just don't remember plugging anything into the unit other than an sd card. so once saved to sd card it should be good. Ill look into it thanks.. Thunder

Sometimes things go awry in the update process if not followed correctly..

It's also a good idea to have your current version of software on a separate SD card in case something does go awry in the update process..

I have been still trying with no luck. The problem I'm having is when I click on my unit name to download i can't find a file to read it. I have look online to find one but still no luck. So therefore I can't even start the process my computer say can't read this type file do you want us to search web to find one for you. I tried there results and no luck. I'm still trying something have to work. I have all the prerequisite too

The software update file you download is a *.bin file which will get read by your Humminbird unit (not your computer). Once you have a copy of the software update file on the SD memory card, place the memory card into your unit and power it on and answer the on-screen questions:

I dont want to confuse you but theres something else that you need to do.a drive opens up on your computer to read your card.before you remove your card from the computer you need to close the drive.good luck
