    Default Lowrance Mark 5x pro

. I need some help with the settings on my Mark 5x pro I just picked up. I'm basically a newbie to graphs as is this is the best unit I've owned yet. I have the sensitivity set around 93% where I get a double reading on the bottom it's everything else I need to fine tune. When I open the menu to adjust the sensitivity it also has the option to adjust the colorline, how does this setting change with the conditions? I have the color on grayscale, what are the other two color settings for? What do you usually run the noise rejection and surface clarity to? Thanks for any help and if you know of any other info I could read online would be much help as well.

I've used mine about 3 or 4 times, so won't be much help but:

not sure how the colorline changes with conditions. The other two colors are for personal preference or lighting conditions. One is for night time viewing I believe, similar to the contrast function but easier I guess if you call going thru the menu to find the correct selection easier. Noise rejection and surface clarity are personal preferences as well, and lake/water conditions (muddy/stained/clear) as well. Adjust each one a bit at a time and see if you can see any change, for better or worse for where and how you fish. There are no set "guidelines" for adjusting a FF, most of it is personal preference to where you have some confidence in what the FF is showing you. If you know the location of some structure, hover over it and adjust the various settings to where it looks familar when compared to your old FF and go from there.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

jkd, I've got a Humminbird, but during the process of learning about my unit I used the search tool here and it helped me find all the threads that talked about my unit. You can also learn a lot just by reading other peoples threads. I found other sites to be pretty useful too. Check out the one listed below. I saved it on the forum that talks about Lowrance units.
