    Default Broken Terrova

TM slipped out of my hand at the ramp and deployed..The pictures show the result..Can this part be replaced & if so I hope I won't have to pull my transducer cable that is terminated in my 898 at the tiller..

Don, it can be fixed. Unfortunately, it will probably have to by a repair shop as the head unit has to come off and the steering housing has to be separated . The Output Tube Liner slides over the shaft, then the top half of the steering housing goes on and the head unit re-installed. Looks like the ducer cable will have to come loose, too. I found the part at: Fish307.com. MK part # 2321515. $1.19 each plus shipping. Hope this helps.

Mine did that once at the ramp. Near had a heart attack, but luckily I only got a scuffed up skeg. You betcha that collar goes down the tube when I pull it back in now, every time I pull it back in.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Thanks for the replies.I will call the repair shop in NC to see if they will do it and cover it under warranty..I still have a few months left. I know it was cockpit error but I have done a lot of business with them..If they won't cover it under warranty I think I will order the one that SlabLapper4sure posted.

Jigflinger, I appreciate the part number but after seeing the parts diagram I would not attempt to fix it myself..

Im pretty sure the shafts are guaranteed for life. A service center told me once about 50 or 60 $ to change it.
