I about dropped the dang box when the UPS man handed it to me. I didn't know it was so dang heavy. After reading the little booklet over and over I really liked the fact that the charger can tell you when you have a battery going bad. That is an awesome idea if you ask me. It will flash a light if the battery won't charge or if it stays over charged. I did run into 1 slight problem. I ordered the 15 ft extention cable but, it is only for the older models and I had to cut the wires at the fuse case and solder in the extention wires. I put shrink tube over each individual wire at the solder, then a bigger shrink tube over the 2 wires and then another (provided by Minn Kota) heavier shrink tube that filled the gab between the splice and then ANOTHER over all that. I don't believe that it will be getting any moisture to the wires. I did this because I was not sure if by cutting the wires here if it would void the warrenty. It clearly states do NOT cut the AC wire or it will and gave a description of where and how to splice if needed but, didn't say if that voided the warrenty. Anyways, I have charged my batteries twice now and it's worked flawlessly so far. I have been a fan of Minn Kota products for some years now.

BTW. I ordered the charger and extention cable from Amazon.com and shipped to my door it was cheaper than what B.P. and Cabela's had just the charger listed at. Every penny saved is a penny more in gas that goes in the boat's tank.
