Default Hummingbird 597 ci hd di Help!!!!

I have a 597 ci hd di that I am importing waypoints into and the unit keeps locking up on me. I have sent the unit off for repairs to Hummingbird and they keep resetting it to the factory default for me. Does anyone have a good safe program that will help me with this issue. What I have found is some waypoints for a couple of our local lakes that are for Lowrance format and I have tried using a program that converts those waypoints from Lowrance to Hummingbird format, but as I stated, once I get them imported the unit locks up on me. Everything on the unit works until I go to the navigation screen to look at the waypoints and that is when it locks the unit up. Hummingbird says that the files are corrupt and they can't save any waypoints for me. I have tried using a different program to convert but it to is doing the same thing. Not sure Hummingbird is liking me to well. I also tried a different sd card. I am just wondering when or how these are becoming corrupt as well.

I think it is important to get the waypoints into Humminbird PC first....and then let HB PC put them onto the SD card before putting the SD card into the unit..there are probably some write data that HB PC puts on the card along with the waypoint data so that the unit can properly upload the data...

    See if this helps...
How do I convert competitor's waypoints to Humminbird format?

Some are using this converter...(if the files are not in a format that HB PC recognizes)..

Anybody know if you have to have a cardreader no matter what to transfer Lowrance waypoints into Humminbird PC? Can't you upload an SD card straight into your computer like you can upload an SD card from a camera? Is the data different and has to be read through a cardreader and then uploaded into Humminbird PC where it can be managed then loaded on an SD card and then downloaded onto my Humminbird?

Humminbird PC (I Believe) will allow you to convert the language from Lowrance to Hummminbird. But they are 2 different languages, and it requires that you convert it to the language you are wanting to end up with. I believe Humminbird PC will allow you to convert from Lowrance to Humminbird, not for sure if you can get from Humminbird to Lowrance on it.

If there is a SD slot in your pc .... That is the card reader...

If you have the Lowrance waypoints on a SD card:
    1. Open Humminbird PC
    2. Put SD card in pc's SD card slot
    3. Humminbird PC should recognise the SD card
    4. Follow instructions here... How do I convert competitor's waypoints to Humminbird format?

Yet again my unit has locked up. Come tomorrow I am calling Humminbird to discuss this issue. This will make the 3rd time this has happened. I did everything that was recommeneded and still the same issue. I ran everything thru Humminbird PC first tried a new SD Card. I get the waypoints loaded and everything goes well. I then take and group them and still all is good. Then I turn the unit off head to the lake turn the unit back on and go to the nav page and select my route and bam she locks up. So I turn unit back off and back on to try again and with a little different result now all my waypoints are gone and so are the groups, then she locks up. I am wondering if this unit is a lemon. Not saying Humminbird is a lemon just this particular unit.
