I'm just learning to us my new 597 ci HD DI. I uploaded the new software version but had trouble saving waypoints. The instruction manual told me how but my menu screens weren't the same. I found out the new upgrade included a new feature called Waypoint Management. I did figure out how to export the waypoints. Then after some research saw the pdf for WM on the humminbird site http://store.humminbird.com/media/document/WMG.pdf .

During this time I had trouble with the unit seeing my sd card, strange because it was the same one I used to update the software. I finally used a different card and still could not export the waypoints. I found a tip on a forum and found that if I uploaded a waypoint (from Humminbird PC via my SD card)to the unit; it might accept it and then I would be able to export waypoints from the unit to the SD card. I tried it and it worked. Something about making the folder needed I think (Matrix). Anyway, I'm enjoying my new unit and will get all the kinks worked out soon.
