    just got a 1198 c gps si 50 channel gps . si combo also a hb 788 ci hd sonar gps interal gps. any one want to go with me to help set these up ? they go on a 2012 lund 18 ft. boat with a 115 mer.

    what chips do i need for illinois and missouri ? the 788 will be on the front. can it be set up to recieve the way points from the 1198. i dont know much out side of turning them on. is the any one close to springfield il to teach some one
    ? i need first grade lanage to under stand this.

    ther is some guys on here that are very knowledgeable. humminbird greg and kosmo are very good. they should get with you shortly. i just purchased a 997 and kosmo has been more than helpful. there is a way to connect the two with the ethernet cables. thats about all i know. lol. somebody here will be able to tell you alot more. good luck

    Look on Humminbird Side Imaging Forums- its all about side imaging and you can search topics that relate-lots of good info. I was gonna say if you can find a humminbird seminar those things are priceless as far as pulling it out of box and getting water ready. They had some at the grizzly jig show this past weekend.
    But just start asking questions as you just have. there are alot of folks that understand the situation you are in and will help as much as they can
    I have yet to have mine on water since installation but im going tuesday, so im not much help other than the notes i took at the humminbird class.

    You can connect the 2 units with the appropriate ethernet cables. As for lake maps, Navionics Hotmaps will cover the lakes you're asking for, but you will need the South and East set.
