798 si or 788 di?

Guys,
I can't make my mind up between 798 si or a 788 di. I just about all the time slow troll and I wanting to put the unit up front on the bow and mount the transducer on the trolling motor. Dose anybody run either unit up front like this?

788 HD DI Combo advantage- picture like deciphering of structure that is under the xducer and out to the sides a few feet...(waypoint markability only on boat's tracking line)...

798ci SI combo advantage- picture like deciphering of structure that is under the xducer, out to the sides of the xducer 100+ feet, which side of the xducer, and waypoint markability of that structure anywhere on that screen...

I wrestled w/ the same questions and followed several posts on both units. I can't speak from great experience just yet as I just installed a 798ci si on the bow of my boat. I had it out once just to play with it. I do a lot of rigging off the front too, and I REALLY like being able to "see" what's off to each side as well as below. Time and experience will only improve the usefulness of it. Good luck on whatever decision you make.
