    got that adapter put on the trolling motor and it really helped out. thought I'd try to post a couple of pictures of it on here for the practice and say thanks again for your help.

    Well, now we got 2 stick shift boats. Just kidding. Really looks great and should work like a champ. No more bending over to change speeds.

    Great job Ray...

    You should really consider putting a knob or plastic ball on the end of that rod to protect yoursef from falling on the rod and impaling youself...

    yeah I gotta do that and maybe put a little bend in it to help me be able to use all the speeds, but it was worth the $5 to fix it!

    I put a slight bend to the right in mine also...

    Straight up was hitting the outside of my leg too often...

    I didnt bend it much... Maybe 2 or 3 degrees to the right...

    I made mine using a bolt-type lock that you would buy for a door and a piece of threaded rod that fit into the slot where the bolt usually goes. The lock comes with the screws to mount it on the TM and you can get it at your local hardware store for about $3. I saw a picture of one that rnvinc had posted and asked him about it. It really helps out with all the bending when adjusting your speed.
