Default Networking 718 and 798 ci SI hd

I have these 2 units in hand. Can they be interlinked and if so what are the advantages of networking them. Currently I have the 718 on the bow with the transducer on the transom. I intend to move the 718 transducer to the trolling motor and put the side imaging on the transom. I will be leaving the 718 on the front of the boat and putting the 798 on the rear.

I am open for suggestions before I commit to this setup.

BTW, I am running an external gps with nmea 0183 on the 718 so no donut

    RCC,
The 798ci HD Si and 718c can be InterLinked.
The advantage would be that you can than set the units so that when you mark a waypoint on one unit it automatically gets marked on the other. The problem here will be that the number of waypoints that can be thus shared will be limited to the number that the 718 can save in its memory which I think is 750 waypoints.

If you are going to do this than make sure that you update the software in both units before you connect up either one to the InterLink.
