570 DI Question for Greg@humminbird

Wife bought me this unit for Christmas present. Haven't received it yet, but have been doing a little research on the unit. Have been seeing quite a few post about other owners of this unit with the transducer mounted on the trolling motor having issues with screen freezes and depth reading issues when running the trolling motor. Does the puck style transducer made for mounting to the trolling motor eliminate the issues. I have had 2 previous Humminbird unit with the transom transducer mounted with a trolling motor adapter and have had no issues with interference. The older unit a DX200 and the latest unit a 565. My trolling motor is a 1999 Motorguide with 5 speed settings. Can I expect the same performance from this transom mounted transducer or should I exchange it for the puck style.

There is no puck style trolling motor transducer for the DI units as yet. You have to use an adapter along with the standard transom mount transducer.

I don’t know if you will have any trolling motor related interference issues or not but if you do Humminbird will try and work with you to resolve them.

I believe that the shallow water depth reading issues were resolved by a software update.

I to am interested in the 570 di, but have not seen a lot of good reviews of it. Im going to give the new technology a little time befor I pull the trigger.
