Default Added to my Lowrance HDS set-up

I haven't had time to install yet, but I bought a HDS-8 the other day. This gives me three HDS units now, which sounds crazy, but I have a plan!

I'm going to install the 8 on the console, take the 5 from up front and mount it next to the 8 on the console, and then move the 7 up to the trolling motor.
The 8 will be used strictly for downscan/sidescan while searching, or on 2D sonar while traveling. The 5 will be used to monitor mapping and centering up over waypoints, or switched to downscan while the 8 is on full screen sidescan. I'm thinking that a 5" screen on mapping or downscan will be a lot better than split screens I had to do before, gonna be a larger view. The 7 will be connected to the puck transducer on the t-motor for 2D sonar and used in split screen mode to also monitor downscan on the back of the boat. The 7 will be much easier on my old eyes while up front will a jiggin pole in my hands.
All three units will be connected together through ethernet so when a waypoint is saved on any unit it'll automatically be saved to all of them.
When I had just the 7 on the console and the 5 up front I thought I had a very good set-up, I had to switch screens quite a bit to see what I wanted to see, but it was a good set-up. Adding the 8 to the mix should make it a great set-up.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Works for me. Nice thing is you can view whatever you want on any unit. Any transducer, any unit.

You will enjoy. I have a similar setup but it is with birds. The boat never leaves my sight and is garage kept.

Sounds like a great set up.
I have an 8 on the console and I just bought a 7 for the front. I'm thinking though, do I want to put the 7 on the console and put the 8 up front?
