wiring fish finder

The fellows who removed my old motor/tilt trim and all wires got carried away! I cautioned them to leave fish finder in. They left the transducer and speed meter but by accident cut the ones to the battery. When I removed the console with light/horn switches I discovered that there were no wires coming out of fish finder for battery. A friend says "NO PROBLEM", but I'm nervous about opening it up. Should we have any trouble finding where to hook up pos/neg wires from it directly to the battery? As my friend Billy will concur, I'm no electric/mechanic. '

1st question...what brand and model DF...??
2nd question....did they actually cut the DF power wires where they come out of the back of the unit...??
