map card garmin 76cs handheld

just got a map card for my 76csx and i can not get the unit to open maps on card. anyone got one that could walk me thru the process ?

On my full size Garmin there is a menu for maps. You have to change the selection from built in, to card.

thanks that s what i expected but i can not find anything like that.

I was trying to do a copy and paste from their online manual, but it didn't work. It does state that from the map page, press menu> set up map. Select the map set up information page. The list of maps stored on the micro sd card appears. A check mark means the map is active. So I guess you need to see if your map card is listed, then put a check mark by it.

thanks shellback. my paper manual does not have that info. i never thought the web manual would be different .
went though the process and still no map, turned out to be a bad card. tried a new one and it worked fine with your info.
