    Default Electrical Interference

I have an HDS5x and the transducer is mounted to the back of the boat where the old transducer was. When cranking the motor and riding, the screen looks staticy (I guess some type of electrical intereference). Does anyone know what I can do about this problem? Makes it hard to ride and look for baitfish and brushpiles due to the screen problems. Thanks in advance for any help.

Ferrite cores can usually reduce engine interference.

Look for these at Radio Shack to save some money minus the marine name and premium price.

Try to find the problem first.if you can not then use farrit core.that what i would do anywaysi think that a farrite core might block more than just the interference.this is just my oppion.no expert

Noise sucks. If you can mask the problem, why strain the brain to fix it. Most interference noises are induced and can be traced down if you wish to spend time and aggravation.
