Has anyone used this RF Choke...If so, did it eliminate all interference?

In case no one recognizes it from the part number:
This is the trolling motor choke from Humminbird/Minn Kota. It installs between the power plug and the foot pedal on most trolling motors.

I would try the other things that the Humminbird Customer Resource folks say to try before buying and installing one of these. The TMC-1 is by no means a “one size fits all” fix for trolling motor interference. It is by far better to eliminate the source of the interference as opposed to trying to filter it out.

Just traced this post down DonG. No doubt this is TM interference. Your motor could be bad @ commutation problems. DC motor will run on crap brushes and generate lots of electrical noise. Stick you ear to the TM housing and listen for excessive noise when TM is running. Keep ears away from blade. ha Better yet, use a piece of pvc pipe and use it as a stethoscope.

I'll second Greg's recommendation. I had the same problem this fall that appeared suddenly. I ended up 1) grounding the negative trolling motor power wire to the shaft and then tightening my variable troling motor activation switch that had worked it's way loose over time. My interference is now gone.

I don't second his recommendation. It is a 50 dollar guess. If the torodial pictured is free, then I second Greggs swag.Thumbs Up

A mechanic's stethoscope is a great tool and doesn't cost very much.

hope you get it fixed, I had to make a choice on keeping my trolling motor or depth finder, had the same problems as you and I really wanted to keep my minkota seemed like the trolling motor was causing the problems and nothing would help, friend of mine put the depth finder on his trolling motor and no problems, that I have heard of

Michael, thanks for the input..I have borrowed my nephew's MK TM and will try the same thing that you did..If his has no interference, I guess it is new TM time..Mine is a 2010 MK Terrova 12volt..
