    Default new maxxim trolling motor

I have a 16 ft fiberglass bomber crappie boat getting a new trolling motor this weekend is a 70 lb 24 volt enough for the boat i spider rig alot, or should i go ahead and get 80 lb 24v, both variable speed. The reason i asked is 70 is 750 and 80 is 980 if there is not much difference i like to save the money

I think the 70 would be enough for your boat 99% of the time. I have a 55 on my 16' aluminum boat and a 80 on my 18' aluminum boat and have never needed more on either one. If it's bad enough that my trolling motor won't hold I should've already been home Thumbs Up.
