Default Some days you have to give the electronics a break

2 Weeks ago, I was fishing and turned off the HDS units and just fished. Did keep the phone on and snapped this shot, and it's better then any underwater shot I have taken.

looks like it was nice day to be on the water.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I like those boats idling around "looking" those guys never fish, they just keep looking. The proof is in the fishing. I've got on fish then rode with a friend just to see what it looks like, half the time it's nothing. The best day I ever had crappie fishing was on a limestone flat, I have seen it when the lake was 20' low and its as bare and flat as a parking lot. Don't get me wrong I would love to have a nice graph but I try to spend most my time on the lake fishing.

I agree to a degree with what you are saying slabs inc. Electronics alone don't catch fish. But DI/SI on water that you are not familiar with can be deadly. If I come to your lake for the first time, I can find structure and find fish without a shadow of a doubt with DI/SI. But to figure out if it will be productive, I'll have to find what technique will work to catch them.

Fish can be caught either way, but having electronics and knowing how to use them can make that catching a lot better.
