Default Wiring power to Sonar in bow of boat...using US2 in Terrova

I have a terrova with US2 ... putting a sonar (HB778) at bow, using US2 transducer in trolling motor. Have pole light recepticle at bow...is there some sort of adapter I can use to power the finder out of that recepticle? or could I somehow wire that with the trolling motor? For some reason, I had it in my head that I would get both sonar and power from TM...
    Thx in advance

I don’t know about an adapter for the light receptacle but I would run a set of new wires from the bow unit to the cranking battery of the boat. Add a new fuse holder and fuse and you will experience less problems with you new sonar unit wired this way.

You do not want to use the trolling motor battery to power the sonar unit. Like Greg said, run new wires for less problems.

If it's not handy to run a new circuit, just splice your FF power into the light circuit. You have to turn the nav light switch on to power the FF. Put the proper in line fuse to the FF.

Do not wire it to any TM battery when using a US2 motor. Not only will it lead to interference, you will blow a fuse in the motor that will make the noise even worse.
