Default Cane Pole, ya wanna see sump'n neat?

I got no idea what it is, nor how to use it, but it's sure looks pretty cool. Tell ya what, you figure it out and let me know how to use it, seeing as how I found it for ya.

I feel just like a cat that catches a mouse and leaves it on the door step.

this just a bunch of identical maps of the same location you can view in numerous mapping programs. I believe the mark to be a ramp location. You can click on google maps and see the topo or click on google satellite and see the satellite view of the lake. Or you can use GPS visualizer and use the draw map feature. Some people prefer different map viewing programs over others, so I guess this is about sharing mapping of the same area with various mappers.

Geocatching is all about points on the map. Kinda like the red teardrops on any googled up location.

I like using google earth (satellite view) for overlaying and calibrating my own maps. It is pretty easy to do.

type in location in the address line in google earth. Or try lat, long in the location box. This is a good tool.

Ummm....yeah, that's what I was gonna say about it.

Actually, I found it somewhat helpful for my home lake. Since they draws down and up throughout the year, the different links have different satelite pics of the same location taken on different dates. So, Google Earthe may have been taken at full pool and another at mid pool and another at low pool. Just thought it was neat to have a bunch of sources gathered on one page.

Found that by doing a Wikipedia Search for my lake then taking the lat and lon link in the info box. Sure it's available for most all lakes of any size though.

I bookmarked the page. Good stuff for sure. Sometimes you are useful despite what billbob says.

I think I just found my new signature line - Cane Pole says I'm useful. You don't mind being paraphrased do ya?
