I recently bought a Lowrance HDS-5, still learning how to use it. Went out the other night and basically just cruised around playing with it. I have a 2gb card so I starting logging the sonar, thinking I could go back home, view it on my computer and be able to find any nice structure I missed and go back and fish it later.
Loaded the file in sonar viewer - works great. I didn;t actually realize how many fish were under me (Tims Ford lake, really deep reservoir)
Question - I guess I did not do this correctly, but I do not see any gps data on the log anywhere. How do I correlate the sonar with where I was ?
Say I find a nice piece of structure and it looks like crappie are hanging all over it, is there anyway to go back and get the gps info for that location ?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Did you have the gps data overlaid on the sonar screen or just on the gps side?
We only sell the Best. Ranger, Xpress, Yamaha, Suzuki, Tohatsu.
no, sorry, I don't know your uncle.
As far as having the data overlaid - It will give me all of the gps data if I go out and sit in the boat and run the log. I was just hoping (wishing) that SonarView would also show the data so I could sit in my house and look at it on the computer.
I tried a LCX-19 emulator but it keeps locking up if I start trying to pause the screen and check out any structure etc.
I'd just rather not pull the HDS-5 off my boat and bring it in the house to view the files and while I love my boat, as beat up as it is, I'd rather not have to go sit in it to view the logs with the gps data. Is still pretty hot here in middle Tennessee so not much fun sitting in the sun when it is 92-93 out.
try playing back in your unit and get your info. from there. I know you can mark something and get the wpt.. I haven't played with my sonar view on my computer in a long time. If you still having trouble call Lowrance CS dept. and they will help you on the sonar viewer.
