Hi Guys,
For better or worse I mounted my GPS puck in front of the console in front of the windshield. it has been like this for > 2 years without much issue but lately i cannot keep a signal and GPS is almost useless. Nothing is different then it has been. Would the issue most likely be with the head unit or the puck? Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this?
Knowing what I know now I would have mounted this on back by transducer and I may still do that later.

I have a Lowrance 480 lms that does the same thing ! I was told it was the puck (LGC 2000)
Can you buy a new puck ( LGC 2000) ? Went to Lowrance web site & didn't see any.
This replaces the 3000. I got it because of the refresh rate. Works on most lcx and HDS. It is Nema 2000, not Nmea 0183

It will work with lcx and HDS. That is all I know. I have lcx and HDS NMEA2000 networked and both work fine. I don't get the fast refresh ( 5 times per second) with the lcx though.
I haven't used it much, but the lcg4000 really improves HDS gps performance. Mainly, I don't loose signal on the west bank of the lake near banks.
