    Default Hb 570 di

Does anyone have any experiance or opinion on the HB 570 DI? I am upgrading and this is the unit im looking at. I have read both good and bad reviews. Any input would be appreciated.

I have one and love it!!!! I takes a little tweaking, but by far the best unit I've ever had. I thinks its hands down the best unit in its price range.

one more thing that i forgot to mention.some people beleive that you dont need traditional 2d sonar. i really dont understand this but hay everybodys got there own opinion. really its the ones that say there sonar experts that i dont understand saying that but anyways the 570 di has a 455 khz 16 degree traditional 2d sonar thats really the only down view thats truely under the boat that i no of in this class of unit.just because di shows a fish on it doesnt mean that is beneath the boat.it could be to either side,no way of noing. at 100 ft. you have 150 ft of coverage with di

This is very interesting info about "DI from SI" vs "True DI"...pay particular interest to post #31...
Humminbird Advanced Sonar - : DI Coverage Area

Altho everyone agrees DI makes pretty pictures...knowing in fact exactly where those fish are that you are seeing on the screen in relation to your boat may very well be more misleading than anyone realizes.....

I like it too. I used it for seeing fish from a bank sending the beam parallel to bottom:
