What is the advantage of mounting the transducer on the trolling motor?

Usually when the ducer is mounted to the tm the finder is mounted on the front of the boat so when fishing off the front seat in the bow of the boat all you have to do is look down at the df. This way you can concentrate more on your fishing poles instead of always looking back at the console (assuming youre using a mount where you can swing your df on the console around backwards so you can view it from the front of the boat). Also when fishing off the front of the boat it helps knowing youre keeping the bow of the boat over the brushpiles when verticle fishing brush.

Plus when mounting the transducer to the trolling motor, your not cutting a hole in your boat!

Each type xducer has advantages/disadvantages mounted on the TM...

Heck, I don't know what type it is, it's one of those ancient Hummingbird Super Thirty II flasher types, it has a 2" trannsducer and there's already a radiator type clamp on it, so it looks like it was mounted on a TM at one time, that's all i know about it, never used it, found it in the shed out back.

When you have a transducer mounted up front what you see is what you get. If you see something it is under you not 16+ feet or so behind you. Takes some of the math out of fishing.
