I had bought a Stowaway deep cycle battery last summer. I was unhappy with Walmart batteries. The salesman told me the store would stand behind their Stowaway. The battery seemed awful weak and I got it tested . Well it was just over a year old and it tested bad.
I took it back today and they told me it was only garenteed for 1 year and the company would cover it after that. The manager called exide and they gave her the run around. After 20 minutes of standing waiting for an answer the main manager came back and made some calls. I was given a new battery and bought another for over 100 dollars. Academy Sports covered the defective battery even though Exide refused to. Thanks to the fine folks at Academy Sports. I will continue to shop there as they always have good prices and treat customers well.

Had the opposite happen. I bought mine from Academy also. The battery crapped out just after having for a little over a year, the local Academy told me it was only warranteed for a year. I was SOL.

Lesson learned, not all Academy's have exceptional customer service.
